What Are the Health Benefits of Juicing?

Juicing isn’t just a new fad that is used to attract millennials.

Believe it or not, juicing has been around for hundreds of years – and for good reason since there are many health benefits of juicing.

With the busy lives that we all live, it’s hard to keep track of the fresh fruits and vegetables that we’re consuming on a daily basis. Let’s be honest for a second, most of us aren’t fans of choking down kale, mustard greens, or dare we say it… arugula in our spare time.

Thankfully, juicing makes it easy to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables in so you can reap all the great health benefits!

INCREASED VITAMINS AND MINERALS IN YOUR DIET

Juicing has the ability to provide the body with a healthy source of vitamins and minerals that could otherwise be missing from your diet. In case you haven’t thought about it in a while, vitamins and minerals are good for you! They help us grow, think, work, and so much more.

If your body is lacking several of the main vitamins and minerals, that could mean your body isn’t working to its full potential. If you’re not a fan or get sick of eating your whole fruits and vegetables, juicing is a fun way to incorporate them into your diet – while also gaining all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs.

WEIGHT LOSS

Incorporating juice into your diet may help you lose weight. Depending on the fruits and vegetables that you’re consuming, it’s possible that your morning, afternoon, or even evening juice are lower in calories than your normal snacks.

In many cases, this can mean that you’re calorie deficient, which is a great recipe for losing a couple of pounds. Although we do recommend to eat healthy meals throughout your day, juicing is a great (and delicious) supplement for any fruits and vegetables you may be missing.

INCREASED ENERGY

We’re used to the routine: Wake up, get ready, grab a cup of coffee on the way out the door, and begin our day.

Have you noticed yourself relying on caffeine a little too much? Maybe you aren’t a morning person, or you lose your steam around 2pm. Juicing is a tremendous way to experience increased energy without reliance on caffeinated drinks.

One of the many ways we can increase our energy levels is through ingesting more foods that have B vitamins. This includes leafy greens, some citrus fruits, beets, ginger, and more. Juicing is a fast, healthy, and easy way to get these B vitamins into your system.

DECREASE INFLAMMATION & RESET YOUR BODY

If you’re suffering from pain or inflammation of any kind, juicing may be a great supplement for you due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Consuming darker, leafy green vegetables, and fruits that are packed with vitamin C will nourish your body with antioxidants.

Maintaining a diet that is full of nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables gives you the upper hand on inflammation, possibly reducing the side effects. If you’re in need of a reset for your body, fresh juice cleanses are a great way to help you recharge your body and start over. Although your body has certain organs to help clean out toxins, juice has the ability to jump-start your cleanse even more.

PROTECT AGAINST DISEASE

Drinking juice with various fruits and vegetables has the ability to increase your nutrient intake which will introduce vitamins and minerals into your body. These are vital in the protection against diseases such as heart disease, high blood sugar, issues with the digestive system, immune system, high blood pressure, and more.

Green juice specifically can help decrease the toxins in your body along with healthy eating and exercise! Phytochemicals in the juice are able to dissolve free radicals in the body – free radicals put many people at a higher risk of disease.

Although green juice might not decrease your health care bills, it might help you from developing many preventable diseases. If you don’t typically consume fruits and vegetables, juicing is a great option!
